Jill - Springer Spaniel
|
Todd and Christina,
The springer fun trial was held south of Douglas, Nebraska on the farm of one of the members, 280 acres dedicated to training springers. Jill ran in the open, single series - 2 pheasants. There were a total of 17 dogs in this series and she placed third under Marty Knibbs, who was the judge. As she ran and flushed the first bird, he said to me, "Nice dog". She trapped the second pheasant. After the retrieve Marty threw the bird for the guns to shoot. Jill ran unsteady and did a nice job of marking and retrieving. I was happy with the way she quartered and found the birds. It was very dry conditions and gusty winds. There were a total of 33 dogs in the trial. Some very nice ones. After the trial I introduced myself to Marty and told him that you had bred and trained Jill. He said, "Oh sure, I know Todd."
I think you would have been proud of Jill. Dale
