Welcome to Craney Hill Kennel & Guide Service. My name is Todd Agnew and I have been training field-bred English Springer spaniels and Labrador retrievers since the 1990s. Our gun dog training program is designed to create dogs utilized for pheasant hunting. Our focus and passion is developing a flushing gun dog that is comfortable at home, yet exciting and effective in the field. We want to work with clients who are as passionate about pheasant hunting as we are. The information below will outline how we can help you achieve your goals with your flushing gun dog.

If you are looking for gun dog training schools, we can help. We have a limited amount of space for outside client dogs, as we will not fill our kennels with outside dogs that do not receive the attention required with quality flushing gun dog training. When you send your flushing dog to us, it gets the same amount of attention and gun dog training as our own dogs. We have three gun dog training schools for flushing dogs. In addition, we make an assessment of your dog and will be upfront with you about your dog’s potential in our flushing gun dog training program. We will not keep the dog with us if there is limited upside in your dog’s potential.

If you are looking for a Kansas pheasant hunting experience, we provide guided pheasant hunts. Some of our clients have brought their own dogs and utilize Kansas pheasant hunting for an assessment of their dog and suggestions for further gun dog training. Other clients have booked a Kansas pheasant hunting experience with us just to enjoy the low-stress environment we create by making the quality of the hunt the experience, rather than the focus on "filling your limit." Clients also go Kansas pheasant hunting with us so that they can see our field-bred English Springer spaniels and Labrador retrievers in action and decide on which flushing gun dog they would like to purchase.

Large groups or small, we have the birds and cover to make your Kansas pheasant hunting experience memorable. We hunt a variety of cover that includes CRP grasses, crop edges and shelter belts. Your hunt will be coordinated for your enjoyment and customized to your hunting style. Most importantly, we have the birds to make this wild pheasant hunt top-notch. Come hunt the Nation’s most liberal pheasant limit – four roosters a day!

If you are looking to purchase a field-bred English Springer Spaniel or Labrador retriever, we sell puppies, Level I, Level II and Level III trained flushing gun dogs. We sell only a limited number of field-bred English Springer spaniel and hunting Labrador retriever puppies each year. This is because we primarily sell trained flushing gun dogs and keep the majority of each litter so we can develop these puppies in our gun dog training program for our clients. An added benefit to this program is that it allows us to work with our own breedings and test these gun dogs in real hunting environments to be sure that our breeding program is creating the type of flushing gun dogs that are easy to live with and easy to train. Our trained gun dogs are typically sold in advance and the delivery time is 1-2 years depending on the level of training and when the order is made.
